The Story of Quality Slippers - Building a Legacy

In the humble beginnings of Quality Slippers, a tale of resilience and creativity unfolds. Joseph Beker, a survivor of the Holocaust, brought his dreams to life in the heart of Canada, fashioning a small slipper company right in the confines of his basement.

The 1950s saw the birth of Quality Slippers, a testament to Joseph's unwavering spirit and determination. Though the factory never amassed millions, it provided the Bekers with a comfortable lifestyle, proving that dreams could flourish even in the most unexpected places.

Little did Joseph know that his legacy would extend beyond the cozy confines of his basement factory. His young daughter, inspired by his entrepreneurial spirit, would find her own unique path in the fashion industry. Following in her father's footsteps, or rather, his slippers, she would become an integral part of a story that spanned generations.

The Legacy Continues...

Fifty years later, a poignant reunion unfolds. Joseph’s daughter, Jeanne, a Canadian fashion icon, partners with Mave & Chez to honour her father’s timeless Quality Slippers. They infuse the classic design with modern elegance, creating a slipper that celebrates both Joseph’s
whimsical spirit and fashion’s evolution.

This collaboration transcends footwear—it’s a tribute to heritage, creativity, and enduring resilience. The Jeanne, in a dusty rose colour, embodies a full-circle moment that connects past and present.

Adorned with a heart emblem, in support of Rethink Breast Cancer, and inspired by Jeanne’s book “Heart on My Sleeve”, this limited edition slipper tells a deeply personal story of love and legacy.
